The Royal Life Saving Infant Aquatics program encourages individual progression in developing aquatic skills suitable to the child's developmental stage. The program is taught with the child dependent on the parent or carer in the water. Infant Aquatics uses songs, games and activities to ensure children experience a variety of skills including entries, floating, breathing and movement.

    Little Ducks 5 – 30mth-36mth

    Pre-school (3 years - 6 years)

Our pre-school curriculum is closely aligned to Royal Life Saving Swim and Survive program ensuring students have a seamless transition into our school aged program. Catered to children aged between 3 to 6 years where parent provides out-of-water supervision, the levels are designed to progress students based on their ability rather than age.

The program is divided into five levels, which progress students from water familiarisation through the use of aid and interactive equipment, to advanced teaching of safety, stroke develop and swimming independently without the use of an aid.

On completion of the final level student’s transition into the Swim and Survive program and enrol into stage 3.

    1. Turtle 3-4yr olds (parents required in water and transition out)
    2. Angelfish (equivalent with stage 1)
    3. Seahorse (equivalent with stage 2)
    4. Octopus (between stage 2-3)
    5. Shark (between stage 2-3)

Learn to Swim - Stages 1 to 15

Swim and Survive stages are for children aged 6 years and over and are offered weekday afternoons and mornings. Our School Age Swim School program is Royal Life Saving WA endorsed encompassing swimming strokes such as Freestyle, Backstroke, Survival Backstroke, Breaststroke, Sidestroke and Butterfly. Classes are offered across five days a week.

All assessments are based on the ‘must sees’ set by Royal Life Saving and survival sequences must be completed in a competent manner.

    Squads

Our program offers three squad levels for the non-competitive swimmer. Our Squads focus on technique, fitness and endurance. Students are taught starts, turns and training drills to increase stroke efficiency.  Entry into Dolphins is for children who are currently in stage 8 and above within the GLC or Education Department swim program.  For new enrolments students start in Dolphin and are progressed when the coach deems them suitable to progress. Classes run for 40 minutes.  Fins & water bottles are required for all squads.
